We Made It!
Climb with us in December 2015!
Treasures of Africa Children’s Home is organizing a fundraising climb to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, known as the “rooftop of Africa” in December 2015. This is a non-technical climb (no ropes or picks required) but does require a certain level of fitness.
This seven day climb will raise money for the orphanage and provide an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience for the climbers. We are utilizing the services a top trekking company to lead our climb. Here is how it works:
Each climber is responsible for the cost of his own climb (paid directly to the trekking company) plus roundtrip airfare to Kilimanjaro Tanzania. (Consider it an investment in the most amazing vacation of your life!) Then each climber is encouraged to find sponsors who will donate to the charity -Treasures of Africa Children's Home - with the goal of raising $5000 for the orphanage. This can be raised by soliciting private or corporate donations or a combination of both. We can send you fund raising ideas.
Both before and after you will visit the orphanage and get a chance to meet the Treasures of Africa Children in person. They will capture your heart and you will know that all your efforts will have been worthwhile!
Our Executive Director, Rita Langeland participated in the 2012 Kili Charity Climb and wrote a very detailed blog each day on the mountain. To read her blog which is entitled "Climb Mama Climb" - CLICK HERE.
